From the artist, “I wanted this show to be about the place where I live and the things I see every day. When we first come to a spectacular landscape it is common to only be able to see the obvious. Many of these paintings are about the scenic but also emphasize mundane elements in order to let the viewer experience the whole. Some of these paintings are simple elements that catch my eye like the way a cast shadow defines a form. I want what most artists want…the viewer to glimpse the world as I see it, through my perspective and, in this case, appreciate that beauty.”
